Flowering Time

Flowering time for indoor is counted from the day the 12/12 light cycle is started and is based on the standard 4 weeks vegetative time from seed. It can vary depending on style of grow (seed plants/clones, hydro/soil, etc.), the products used, and quality of plant care. Outdoor flowering is also influenced by the time of sowing, soil/nutrients/water quality, weather, and pests.

Yield

Yield will vary in each individual grow because it depends on many factors that you influence: the size of your plants, light intensity, quality of plant care, cultivation style, products used, etc. Our max. yield is based on gr/m2 under 400W HPS/m2, organic soil cultivation with seeds and a 4 week vegetative time.

Aroma

Aroma or taste is based on our results in organic soil cultivation. It can vary according to your style of grow, substrates, use of additional products (pesticides, fertilizers, etc.) and the drying/curing process. Avoid giving fish emulsion during flowering, using plant or bud boosters, and similar products.

Germination results will vary when pre-soaking seeds in water. Fresh seed stock can germinate under these conditions - but not always. Most often, only pre-germinating in moist paper tissue works for fresh seeds. But this is also not full-proof and should only be done if you have enough seeds to spare.

To prevent complications, and achieve the consistent level of high germination rates that you should be getting from our seeds, please trust our advice and follow our guidelines in the GERMINATION GUIDE. Customers who soak their Mandala seeds in water or wet paper tissue do so at their own risk. We are not accountable for any failure in germination or complications caused by this method. If you have any issues regarding germination please read our Germination Troubleshooting Guide carefully before contacting us.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Please read our Germination Guide before germinating your Mandala seeds. Due to the high quality and fresh stock of our seeds we advise against soaking the seeds in water or germinating in paper tissue. >> READ MORE

Detailed Description:

THIS POPULAR MANDALA STRAIN IS SOLD OUT AND HAS ALSO BEEN DISCONTINUED TO MAKE WAY FOR NEW VARIETIES IN OUR CATALOGUE. WE BID FAREWELL TO A LOVELY PLANT WHICH WON THE HEARTS & MINDS OF MANY GROWERS.

This robust variety is a good choice for the novice gardener and experienced grower alike. She combines power, quality, and flexibility within a relatively short flowering time. White Satin is made for easy growing... plant and harvest with a minimum of effort. The main flowering power is located on the central stem, which can expand into a very fat cola, but also the side shoots deliver quality ‘nuggets’. White Satin has proven to be very versatile for Sea of Green or SCROG (Screen of Green) methods. Even under low light conditions (min. 15-20,000 lumens/m2), such as under fluorescent tubes, CFL lamps and 150-250W HPS the performance is satisfying. For optimal results we recommend 400W/m2. Her medium height, good yield, and well-balanced, intensive high have made her a popular variety ideal for indoor. The aroma of the flowering plants is mild. This makes White Satin an interesting choice for growers who require a low odour plant for ‘stealth’ cultivation. The dried buds are however delicious in fragrance and taste.

White Satin can develop an extremely large and dense main cola, so it’s a good idea to keep humidity between 35-50%, and night time temperature not below 20°C, as a prevention to mold. Check the head buds at least once before harvest if they are very fat, or if you have constant high humidity in your grow space. The plants with the highest resin output will also cover many leaves with trichomes and provide an extra treat for hash enthusiasts using bubble/pollinator bags or other hash production techniques.

Outdoor most plants will finish end of September in southern latitudes. In regions above 46°N the harvest is mid to late October depending on climate and when you planted. We recommend outdoor cultivation up to 50°N. White Satin will grow into a very broad bush-like tree up to 2-2.5 meters with massive yield if planted early in quality soil. To achieve a shorter, more discreet size we recommend pruning the top during early growth or planting out in late May-early June.

White Satin was named after the famous song "Nights in White Satin" from the legendary Moody Blues. The name was also inspired by the typically long, silky-white pistils, which remain unusually fresh until harvest, and the frosty resin coating of the colas. White Satin was a unique hybrid with fresh genetics and had no relation whatsoever to any Dutch "white strains".
This was one of the four standard Mandala varieties in our catalogue. White Satin earned her place in cannabis history by growing like an indica but offering a happy, "giggly", and upbeat social high. When we first introduced White Satin a substantial number of growers in Europe reported to have never experienced a potent upbeat high, completely paranoia-free, in a strain with such a short flowering time. Another remarkable feature was her ability to flower well under low-light. Later we enhanced the "stealthiness" of White Satin in the second edition by reducing the odour level to a minimum. With so many beneficial features offered in one variety, White Satin remained very popular among the cannabis community. Although we would have very much liked to continue this genetic line, we also have to periodically make space for new creations. Growers will find several features popularized by White Satin in some of our other varieties. For example, we recommend the new edition of Kalichakra and Mandala #1 for low odour "stealth" cultivation.
